Yes, And… invites the audience to pause and reflect on the discourse in our lives.
It can be easy to avoid a potentially uncomfortable subject in conversation, irrespective of how fruitful it might be to discuss. It can be similarly tempting to offer a counter-opinion during an impassioned conversation, without really acknowledging the other’s perspective. The conversational sequitur “Yes, and…” acts in support of sharing nuanced perspectives which may not completely align. Yes, And…is a musical exploration of dialogue between double bass and percussion. It was written for and in collaboration with Bryan Bailey (double bass) and Peyton Esraelian (percussion).
